KIFF NO BEAT
MEET IVORY COAST’S KIFF NO BEAT
Kiff No Beat is an Ivorian rap band known for infusing various musical genres in their music, for instance R&B, Ragga/Dancehall, Rap and Pop. The band’s recent hits Aladji and Allah have solidified their contribution as one of Ivory Coast’s biggest ambassadors. On Coke Studio Africa 2017, they make a debut on the show paired with Wawa Salegy (Madagascar) and Freeda (Namibia).
RISING TO STARDOM
In 2010, Kiff No Beat performed at Faya Flow, a Hip-Hop competition organized by JACH and sponsored by Orange Côte d'Ivoire. Following their success at the competition, they went ahead and recorded a 16-track album titled “Christmas Gift” at Ronito Prod, owned by former Ivorian footballer Romaric N'Dri. The compilation was followed by a 23-track album “Jackson Five”. Their other albums include “Teenage Firecrackers 2014” and “Cubism 2016”, which features DJ Arafat on the single Approche Regardez.
Kiff No Beat’s musical genius is reflected in their remarkable rise in Africa’s music industry. The group, whose fan base extends to the four corners of the continent, including Benin, Congo Brazzaville, DRC, Niger, Cameroon, Guinea and Togo, have been nominated at key African award ceremonies, including the MTV Africa Music Awards and AFRIMMA in 2016. Their success stems from their unique composition that infuses Ivorian urban culture, Ivorian Slang and a perfect mastery of social networks, which makes them popular among the youth.
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Kiff No Beat was formed in 2009 by Didi B (Bassa Zerehoué Diyilem), El Jay (Konan Franck Guy Mares), Black K (Gnahoré Okou Camille), Joochar (Kouakou Jonhattan Charly) and Elow'n (N'Wolé Brice) — all from musical backgrounds. It’s the difference in the personalities and abilities of all the members that allow them to gel so well and resonate with audiences while delivering their music and performances.
