WHO IS IZZO?
Young Hip-Hop newbie from Tanzania Izzo Bizness is a rising star in East Africa, renowned for his hits Umeniweza and Tumeoana featuring Abela Music. On this year’s Coke Studio Africa platform, he makes a debut alongside Kenyan songstress Avril, who is back on the show for a SECOND TIME.
Izzo Bizness recorded his first single at the age of 18 and was signed on to MJ records in the year 2010. This is where his career started gaining traction as soon as he released Business featuring Sumalee and Tenzi za Mapenzi with Shapsin. He has so far received three nominations at the prestigious Kilimanjaro Music Awards, and in 2013 was nominated at the Tuzo za Watu awards. He has collaborated with Ugandan artiste Navio, Swedish artist and producer Fundi Samweli, as well as Mwasiti, Dully Sykes, Ben Pol and AY among others.

Izzo Bizness’ musical art reflects his unique ability to observe life as he sees it, combining elements of humour, satire and realism. The young musician is lucky to have shared the stage with respected American rappers Ludacris and Busta Rhymes.

Born Emmanuel Simwinga in Shinyanga, Tanzania, Izzo Bizness grew up in Mbeya to eventually settle down in Dar es Salaam. He has a Certificate in Marketing Management from the College of Business Education, and aside from music, is a budding entrepreneur who likes to keep his business and investments private.
